Emma Blackham


   
 

Biography:
Emma graduated from Nottingham in 2012. Her final year project, supervised by Drs J Fray and J Moses, was in medicinal chemistry in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline. Emma spent her 3rd year at AstraZeneca Charnwood, working as part of the process understanding team, where she carried out mechanistic studies into the synthesis of one of the company’s leading drugs. She was awarded the Stevens Prize for Medicinal Chemistry for achieving the highest mark on her degree program.

Degree:
MSci in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry, University of Nottingham, 2008-2012.

Current Work:
Novel metal catalysed cascade reactions of cyclopropyltrimethylsilyl ethers

Experience:
Year in industry in process chemistry at AstraZeneca.

Hobbies:
Ballet and Tap dancing.
